Windows Storage Server 는, Windows 기반 스토리지 전용 운영체제 입니다. 기존 Windows Server 에서 스토리지와 관련없는 서버 기능은 모두 빼고, 대신에 I/O 관련 성능에 초점을 맞춘 제품입니다.

대부분 OEM 하드웨어 제품과 같이 공급되므로,. Windows Server 처럼 대중적인 제품은 아니죠..^^ 그래도 NFS 등 여러가지 프로토콜 지원하여 클라이언트 제한이 없는게 장점이기도 합니다.

역시 Windows Server 제품처럼, 차이점이라면 RAID와 CPU, Disk 일텐데요.
최근에는 SATA 와 조금더 성능이 좋은 SAS 타입이 주류를 이루는데, 제품 버젼에서도 역시 Standard 제품 이상을 써야 할것 같습니다.
그리고, SIS 및 외장 스토리지를 지원하는 점도 큰 차이점이 될수가 있겠습니다.
